My name is Katie Dunleavy and I’m a senior at Middlebury College majoring in Music & Pre-Medicine. As a hospice volunteer for the past four years I have been astounded by the amazing work hospice volunteer services has accomplished throughout Addison County. I realized the true impact of community after my Dad passed away two years ago. As a member of Wellspring, a local hospice singing group, I have seen firsthand how music can bring comfort and healing to patients and their families alike. Becoming a hospice volunteer has been one of the most meaningful experiences I have had at Middlebury College and I could not imagine graduating without giving back to an organization that supports our community during such a sensitive and meaningful time of life!

Hospice is specialized care for people with terminal illness as well as support for their loved ones. This philosophy of care addresses physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Learn more about HVS at www.hospicevs.org
