Two promotions to report in the social sciences: Kateri Carmola (Political Science) and Michael Sheridan (Sociology / Anthropology). They are now associate professors without limit of tenure.

Here’s a new student story and video just posted on Midd’s site about Cameron Mercer ’11, who had an interesting internship at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala. working on the Mars Exploration Rovers program. His NASA mentor had high praise for him, and has invited (and funded) him to present his research at a major industry conference in Houston this spring.

Conor Shapiro ’03 is the director of St. Boniface Hospital in Haiti. He was inspired by one of his former professors to travel there and has been there ever since.
