About Us

The purpose of the Association for Women in Mathematics is to create a community in which women and girls can thrive in their mathematical endeavors, and to promote equitable opportunity and treatment of women and others of marginalized genders and gender identities across the mathematical sciences.

At Middlebury, we strive to make our student chapter of this national organization a welcoming community to all, particularly those with underrepresented gender identities. We host both social and academic events throughout the spring and fall semesters, and our ultimate goal is make your journey through math at Middlebury as comfortable, and as fun as possible.
