Test Instructions
- Log into computer with your Middlebury username and password. Alternatively log in with pclab user account:
username: pclab
password: <<get from Library Circulation Desk>> - Open a web browser (e.g. Firefox) and go to:
go/chinese-exam. Click on link to CATRC Exam
- Wait for further instructions from test proctors.
- The exam is done when you see a message indicating the your answers have been uploaded to the database
Test items may use either Traditional or Simplified characters. Since this test is adaptive, it can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 1/2 hours.

Administering/Proctoring Exam at Middlebury

Arrive at lab 20 minutes before exam is scheduled to be taken

If it is the first session of testing for the day, restart all computers.
- Log into computers with the username and password of the day (see Library Info Desk if not updated on this site)

Open browser and go to:
go/chinese-exam - Wait around for at least 15-20 minutes to make sure everyone has started the test ok and nobody is having difficulties. Since this test is adaptive it can take students anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 1/2 hours to complete.
