It’s great to see wireless access slowly extending over more and more of campus. However this fall I have definitely noticed that wireless access is also getting weaker and weaker (ie less and less stable), especially during what I suppose are peak usage hours. In the library, for example, wireless access is ubiquitous – but ubiquitously weak, and kicks me off every 20 minutes or so.
Do we have any idea why this is happening, or how it could be fixed? Would it be expensive?
Topher: Just want to be sure you’ve seen this thread on the Suggestions blog: Why is wireless slowest when everyone needs it? We’re hoping people will report areas where the signal is most problematic.
