Assignments

The following are the assignments for this course, together with their relative weights in the calculation of the final grade:

After determining the grade earned by written work, I will factor in participation. For students who make exceptional contributions to our discourse, I may raise their final grades by one-third of a letter grade or more. Students with problematic attendance may find their grades lowered by one-third of a letter grade or more.

Please note that students should not expect to pass the course if they do not receive a passing grade on each of these assignments.
