North Korea is an incredibly unstable nation. What the world knows about the nation is only what they tell us. While only a few foreigners are allowed in the country each year their borders are closed to their own people. No one leaves the country besides their ruler Kim Jong-il. Kim Jong-il recently launched a a missile capable of striking anywhere in the continental US. If Kim Jong-il were to ever launched one of these missiles with a nuclear weapon the nation of North Korea will disspear as the Untied States would retaliate with full force. In the mean time a Cold War strategy is the most effective strategy out there. The United States must find a way to bring the country down from the inside. The people of North Korea have limited access to the outside world. People describe North Korean people as brainwashed by Kim Jung-il as they know nothing besides what he tells them. If the Untied States were able to show the people of North Korea what the world really is, military action by the United States government may never have to happen. People within North Korea must take down their own regime and that will only happen if we are able to give them information about the world outside North Korea. For now I believe the Untied State will show more force along the borders of North Korea with constant fighter jets and an increased Naval prescense , but I do not believe the Untied States will strike North Korea first.
