Hey Students,

Welcome to CCI Connect! Check out the newest internships, jobs, and CCI events postings and get started! As you browse the entries, clicking on the internship or job titles will bring you straight to the MOJO posting (you will need to sign in the first time); in many places, we’ve also provided a link to the organization. If you need help or want to talk through ideas and options, come to drop-ins hours at the Center for Careers & Internships (CCI) in Adirondack House every Monday-Friday from 2-5 p.m. No appointment necessary for drop-in hours!

What’s New in INTERNSHIPS:

  • As the Fine Arts Intern, help manage the Blue Water Fine Arts Gallery in Port Clyde, Maine. Gain experience in marketing/advertising, sales, client relations, organization, social media, coordinating openings and events and work directly with artist Barbara Prey, a member of the National Council on the Arts, advisory Board to the National Endowment for the Arts.   • Visual Learning Systems is an educational science publisher whose mission is to reignite a passion for teaching and learning science. As the Production Assistant, help develop powerful learning tools by performing a wide variety of tasks including graphic design, video archiving, proof reading, and more.  (Deadline: 4/14)
  • Here’s one for architecture majors!  As the Marketing/Design Intern for Iris VR, be in on a beta release of Iris, an immersive design & presentation tool that sends 3D models into virtual reality to revolutionize how people build and share digital spaces. (Deadline: 4/15)
  • Or if you love gaming and design, Iris VR is seeking a Software Engineer / Game Programming Intern with graphics experience to help build video games for architects. Your skills will help design professionals view their work in Virtual Reality. (Deadline: 4/15)
  • The Friends of the Morrill Homestead is a nonprofit that fosters a greater awareness of the life and legacy of Senator Justin Morrill. The Summer Education & Programming Intern will work with the Director to host educational programs and public events, organize volunteer outreach and develop a membership program. (Deadline: 4/15)

CCI Reminders and Related Notices:

  • Got a phone interview coming up?  Need a quiet, private space?  You can reserve an interview room at CCI that comes with a secure landline.  Call 443-1500 to reserve your space.
  • Seniors: Ramp up your approach to “life after Midd” with CCI’s Career Action Crash Course and in three sessions, get a firm handle on what you want and how to network and interview to get it. We meet late mornings on April 4, 18 and 25. (Deadline to submit a resume and an application letter 4/2).
  • Internship Funding applications are now online! If you find an unpaid summer internship, you can apply for funding through CCI to cover costs such as transportation, food, housing etc. Visit go/summer funding for full details. (Applications due: 4/6)

  • Lake Champlain Maritime Museum Summer 2014 Internship. If you are interested in a career in archaeology, public history, and/or working in a museum, apply to the Conservation Laboratory at the LCMM.  Interns will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in collections management, museum education, artifact conservation, and more.   • LACMA – Collections Management Internship The volunteer intern must be able to complete 240 hours within a fourteen-week period, be computer literate and be a college junior, senior or graduate-level status.   • Paid Summer Internships at New York City Museums for students from New York with demonstrated financial need.
  • The Andrew W. Mellon Undergraduate Curatorial Fellowship Program for undergraduate students from historically underrepresented groups is organized around two components: the Summer Academy and the Undergraduate Curatorial Fellowship Program. Students much first apply to the Summer Academy. Application dates vary – check specific links.   • Peter A. Krueger Summer Internships (Cooper Hewitt National Museum of Design) These internships, which honor the memory of Peter A. Krueger, who was an intern at Cooper-Hewitt, provide a stipend of $2,500. The internship program runs for 10 weeks over the summer beginning the third Monday of June. Housing is not provided.   • The Andy Warhol Museum – Pittsburg A small number of unpaid internships are available at The Andy Warhol Museum.
