Hey Students,

Welcome to CCI Connect! Check out the newest internships, jobs, and CCI events postings and get started! As you browse the entries, clicking on the internship or job titles will bring you straight to the MOJO posting (you will need to sign in the first time); in many places, we’ve also provided a link to the organization. If you need help or want to talk through ideas and options, come to drop-ins hours at the Center for Careers & Internships (CCI) in Adirondack House every Monday-Friday from 2-5 p.m. No appointment necessary for drop-in hours!

What’s New in INTERNSHIPS:

  • The Northeast Organic Farming Association seeks a VT FEED/School Nutrition Association-VT Intern to develop marketing materials that  promote local foods in school meal programs and to assist in planning and conducting farm to school workshops at the Child Nutrition Programs Summer Institute. (Deadline: 3/23)
  • Help mobilize resources and contribute to middle schoolers’ educational success as the Summer Intern for National External Engagement at Citizen Schools, (Deadline: 3/23)
  • Match your interest in science and higher education working as the Summer Advocacy Intern  for Lewis-Burke Associates LLC,  a Washington, DC-based full service lobbying and consulting firm specializing in advocacy for scientific research and higher education.(Deadline: 3/28)
  • Want to be involved with developing large-scale, high-stakes standardized tests of English language proficiency?  The Educational Testing Service is hiring 30 English Language Learning Interns  for 6-week, paid positions.  (Deadline: 3/30)
  • Gain hands-on experience in organic gardening, dairy operations, cheese making, and animal care, and then develop a farm based-lesson plan and lead public education activities or a summer camp program as the Farm-Based Education Fellow  at Shelburne Farms. (Deadline: 4/4)

What’s New in JOBS:

  • The Venture for America Fellowship includes a 5-week crash course in start-up readiness and placement at a growth-state company, as well as mentoring and opportunities to develop valuable networks. (Deadline: 3/24)
  • As a Peace Corps Volunteer, you’ll be working on sustainable development anywhere in the world and getting the best experience you can get after college. Seeking to fill positions in business, health, education, agriculture, the environment, information technology, construction, and community development! (Deadline: 4/15)

  • Sun, March 16 4:00 to 5:30 pm Immigration Issues Session with immigration attorney Dyann DelVecchio (Seyfarth Shaw, LLP and Middlebury alumna) This session will focus on issues related to staying and/or working in the United States and is open to all class years. We will have food! (Carr Hall Lounge)
  • Mon, March 17, 12:30-1:30 pm Overland Travel Information Session Learn about this company that hires college students to lead summer biking, hiking, language, service, writing and field studies programs – both domestic and abroad – to students ages 11 to 19. (MBH 219)
  • Mon, March 17, 6:30-7:30pm Info Session for Fall Fellowships (British, Watson, Fulbright). Learn about post-graduate study, research, travel and teaching experiences abroad offered by these fellowships. They have different criteria for citizenship, GPA, and fields of study supported.   • Wed, March 19, 2-5 pm Job Fair at UVM Engage with over 120 employers at this Burlington event.  RSVP on MOJO. CCI will provide free van transportation.  (UVM)

  • Internship Funding applications are now online! If you find an unpaid summer internship, you can apply for funding through CCI to cover costs such as transportation, food, housing etc. Visit go/summer funding for full details. (Applications due: 4/6)
  • CCI has listings of the 2013 Summer Internships that Middlebury students participated in. Check them out for ideas and feel free to contact the student interns for additional information.

  • If you are considering applying for a Fulbright, Watson, or British Scholarship in fall 2014, please note: Preliminary applications due by Monday, April 21, 2014.

  • Engage Chicago: An immersive summer field study program for undergraduates from across the nation, featuring optional Concentrations for students interested in Health or Law. (Deadline: 4/4)
  • Y.O.U. is seeking applicants for its Summer 2014 Inspire Fellows Program. Inspire Fellows serve as workshop leaders and counselors for our high-quality, 9-week summer learning program, facilitating workshops in the arts, literature, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), or health and fitness. The fellowship offers students a paid, full-time opportunity to learn best-practices in youth development and to prepare for a career in youth development, education, and the non-profit sector.
