Hey Students,

Welcome to CCI Connect! Check out the newest internships, jobs, and CCI events postings and get started! As you browse the entries, clicking on the internship or job titles will bring you straight to the MOJO posting (you will need to sign in the first time); in many places, we’ve also provided a link to the organization. If you need help or want to talk through ideas and options, come to drop-ins hours at the Center for Careers & Internships (CCI) in Adirondack House every Monday-Friday from 2-5 p.m. No appointment necessary for drop-in hours!

What’s New in INTERNSHIPS:

  • It is not too late!  Middlebury FoodWorks has extended its deadlines for many of its summer food-related internships based in Vermont or Kentucky.  Search MOJO for FoodWorks.  (New Deadlines: 3/5)
  • There are some late-breaking internships that did not get into this week’s CCI Connect so be sure to check them out! Search in MOJO for internships by “date posted.”

  • Spend the summer in beautiful Telluride, Colorado inspiring individuals of all ages to explore, develop and celebrate their creativity. Plenty of time to do your own art too! Apply to be the Arts Intern at The Ah Haa School for the Arts, a community arts center in the heart of the San Juan Mountains. (Deadline: 3/7)

  • Thurs, Feb. 27, 7:30 -9 pm Social Responsibility Week: Tom Mitchell: Investment as a Tool for Social Change Tom Mitchell is the Managing Director of Mission-Related Investing at Cambridge Associates, a leading investment consulting firm. He helps his clients formally explore activities and investments that align their investments with their mission and philanthropic interests. (RAJ Conference Room)
  • Fri, Feb. 28, March 7, 14: Seniors! Want to ramp up your approach to “life after Midd?” Take CCI’s Career Action Crash Course and in three sessions, get a firm handle on what you want and how to network and interview to get it. (Registration for this series has closed; watch MOJO for registration deadlines for the next series in April.)
  • Tues, March 4, 4:30 to 6:00 pm   Senior Meeting and Post-Completion OPT Session with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)  Join ISSS as we provide Senior-specific information to assist with your transition to life beyond the Green Mountain State.  The Senior Meeting will address your visa status after graduation, invitation letters for family members to attend commencement, summer travel in the U.S., employment options and graduate school.  All senior international students should plan to attend this meeting. The Post-Completion OPT will follow the Senior Meeting session will outline what you need to consider if you want to work in the U.S. after graduation.  (If you don’t plan to work in the U.S. after graduation or already attended an OPT session as a senior, you do not need to stay for the OPT session.) We will have food! (Carr Hall Lounge)
  • Thurs, March 6, 4:30-6 pm A Field Guide for Geology Majors  Join this conversation to find out what former Middlebury College Geology majors have gone on to do.  These alums represent a diverse array of professional directions including work with the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy, environmental consulting firms, and science writing.   • Internship Funding applications are coming out this week!  If you find an unpaid summer internship, you can apply for funding through CCI to cover costs such as transportation, food,  housing etc.  Visit go/summer funding for full details.  (Applications due: 4/6)

  • Sun, March 16  4:00 to 5:30 pm Immigration Issues Session with immigration attorney Dyann DelVecchio (Seyfarth Shaw, LLP and Middlebury alumna) This session will focus on issues related to staying and/or working in the United States and is open to all class years.   • Paid Summer Collections Management Internship The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida, will be offering a paid internship in its Collections Management department for ten weeks June 2 – August 8, 2014. (Deadline: 3/3)
  • Ah Haa School for the Arts – Telluride, CO Application Deadline: March 7, 2014. All interns are expected to arrive on June 13 for orientation and stay for the entire ten- week session. Each intern receives one week of vacation during that time. All interns should plan to help the week of the Ah Haa School’s Benefit Art Auction on July 18.   • LACMA – Marketing Internship Part-time; unpaid. Deadline for Application: April 1st for Summer Internship (June-August) http://www.lacma.org/internships
  • LACMA – Collections Management Internship The volunteer intern must be able to complete 240 hours within a fourteen-week period, be computer literate and be a college junior, senior or graduate-level status.   • Peter A. Krueger Summer Internships (Cooper Hewitt National Museum of Design) These internships, which honor the memory of Peter A. Krueger, who was an intern at Cooper-Hewitt, provide a stipend of $2,500. The internship program runs for 10 weeks over the summer beginning the third Monday of June. Housing is not provided.   • The Andy Warhol Museum – Pittsburg A small number of unpaid internships are available at The Andy Warhol Museum. Internships are highly competitive and placement may take up to 12 months, so apply as early as possible. We will make every effort to match potential interns with the limited internships available.
