Dear Faculty and Staff,
I am writing to follow up on a previous announcement about new offerings and changes in Dining Services coming this fall. As part of these enhancements, Dining Services will offer a new faculty/staff meal plan beginning September 20.
During the initial promotional period of August 26 to September 6, employees will have a choice of three different meal plans for a discount of $25 off the regular price. The meal plan prices will all increase after the initial promotional period.
As previously announced, our primary goal is to ensure we’re meeting the evolving needs of our students in support of our educational mission while continuing to provide essential opportunities for community connection among students, faculty, and staff based on volume and patterns of use at all our facilities.
How it Works
Employees can pay for these meal plans through payroll deduction either all at once via their September 20 paycheck or in installments spread out evenly over five pay periods from September 20 to November 15.
The Meal Plans
The meal plan choices are:
- 10 dining hall meal swipes and $25 in declining balance for $100
- 25 dining hall meal swipes and $50 in declining balance for $200
- $225 in declining balance for $200.
Where to Eat
The meal swipes can be used at any dining hall (Proctor, Ross, or Atwater) for any meal period. The declining balance can be used at any of our on-campus retail outlets which are MiddExpres, the Grille, BiHall, Crossroads Café, and the new Sushi Mari at McCullough. The declining balance can also be used in the dining halls at the door price rate.
The President’s Dining Room located in Proctor Dining Hall will be open and available for seating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays throughout the semester.
How to Sign Up
The plan will be added to your Middlebury ID card. In preparation, if you would like to purchase a Faculty Staff meal plan and your ID card is more than 5 years old you will need to visit the Dining Services Office in lower Proctor and receive an updated card.

If you miss the promotional sign up period you can go to MiddExpress and sign up at the non-discounted price.
