This week we are continuing to catch up with our “new” employees who started in the spring. Please join us in welcoming Gene and Ashley to Middlebury.
Gene DeLorenzo has been hired as a night watchman in Facilities Services. Gene has been a resident of Middlebury for nine years and is active in youth athletics. He coaches the JV boys basketball team at MUHS and is the proud father of two sons, Perry and Doug. Gene is married to Katharine DeLorenzo, the head field hockey coach at the College. In his spare time Doug also works for Vermont Interactive Television, does webcasts for Middlebury College and owns/directs “Springfling,” a women’s lacrosse event in Florida.
We’re also excited to welcome Ashley Calkins back to campus! Ashley is a 2006 graduate of Middlebury College and is the community engagement coordinator for the Civic Engagement Office at the Center for Education in Action. She recently completed her master’s degree in higher education and student affairs at Indiana University and is originally from Iowa City.
