In 1950 Lang Field was constructed and dedicated to Ted Lang, a student who gave his life during World War II. Lang Field was used often by the track and field team for practice. Porter field remained the field used for outdoor competition until it was replaced in 1996 by the Dragone Track Complex that the team uses today.
