Fulbright Grant and Watson Fellowship Information Sessions: TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 4:30 and 6:15 PM respectively, Axinn 229

For all students, particularly seniors, interested in pursuing postgraduate opportunities abroad, these back to back meetings on September 13 will provide an overview of the respective grant program and its goals, eligibility and award criteria, and the application process.

The Fulbright Information Session is scheduled for 4:30 PM.  The purpose of the Fulbright Program is “to foster mutual understanding among nations through educational and cultural exchanges.” The US Student Grant program enables recent undergraduates to pursue graduate study, research or English Teaching Assistantships.  Each year, approximately 1500 Americans receive support to travel to over 130 countries.  For 2012 Fulbright US Student Grants, the Middlebury deadline is September 26, 2011.

The Watson Fellowship Information Session is scheduled for 6:15 PM.  The Watson program provides funds for college seniors of unusual promise to engage in focused independent study and travel abroad in the year following their graduation. The fellowship provides an opportunity for Fellows to test their aspirations and abilities, to view their lives in greater perspective, and to develop a more informed sense of international concerns.  For 2012 grants, the Watson Fellowship Middlebury deadline is September 21, 2011.
