The Queer Studies House (QSH—pronounced kwish) is an academic interest house with the mission of promoting the academic pursuit of queer studies. QSH is dedicated to the principle that the study of sexuality and gender—and their relationships to race, class, ability, and geography—is integral to the promotion of diversity and critical thinking. Beyond being a vibrant living space for students of all gender and sexual identities, QSH seeks to foster leadership and activist skills among its residents. Some students may come to QSH with a developed academic interest in Queer Studies or developed activist skills related to queer issues and others may develop these interests and skills through their participation with QSH. Regardless, our hope is that all residents will grow through the unique opportunities to learn and build community that QSH offers.
