Former NExpress members have agreed to keep working together to provide expedited Interlibrary Loan services with the start of the Phoenix Rapid Returnables Pod. All requests will be processed through ILLiad, but requests for materials owned and available at any of the Phoenix Pod members will be ordered automatically, delivered by UPS, and loaned for an extended period of two months (with a renewal of another month).
What do you need to do to take advantage of Rapid’s automated ordering? Nothing special! If you need a book or an article that we don’t own, submit a request via ILLiad at go.middlebury.edu/ill/ as usual, and be sure to include an ISSN or OCLC Accession number. (Need help with that? Ask a librarian!)
The upgrade is now complete.
The ILLiad web pages will be down from 9:00 am today while we upgrade the ILLiad software to v8.7. The ILL web site will be inaccessible for only a short time, assuming all goes well with the update.

Due to the holidays and shipping madness, the increased risk of losses, and the lack of open libraries willing to send things, the Interlibrary Loan Department limits ordering and shipping during the second half of December.
If you need anything before winter break request it now! Interlibrary loan requests submitted to ILLiad after Dec. 15th will be ordered in early January.
ILLiad article requests will continue to be filled by RapidILL through Dec. 20st, but requests must have a valid ISSN and year to be processed by Rapid.
For loan materials use NExpress: (http://go/NExpress). NExpress will stay open during break. Requests placed in NExpress go straight to the Lending Library for processing. Loans ordered from NExpress over break should arrive in early January.
A Middlebury students in the early evening of Sept. 23rd submitted the 400,000th request in ILLiad (TN:400000). We ordered the request using RapidILL, and the request was filled and available to the patron by early this morning, 9/24! Congratulation to everyone involved.
I’m sorry to report ILLiad is inaccessible while our server and program are updated. Please use NExpress go/nexpress to place loan request.
ILLiad should be back in operation by tomorrow.
