“Tear Down This Wall”: Public Speaking Competition

All students are invited to submit an audio or video clip featuring an original speech to commemorate, reflect upon and carry into the future the events of November 9th 1989 in Germany.

What would you say if you were the President of the United States? How did the “velvet revolution” of 1989 change our world? What does that historic November 9th mean to us today? What can and should we learn from it? Has the Wall really come down? How many walls do we still have to tear down? How can we create “freedom without walls”?

Do not just leave it up to President Obama to find the right words–November 9th 1989 is about each of us, and we want to hear your voices!
