Aleksandr Nikolaevich Scriabin (1871-1915) is often mentioned in connection with Andrei Bely. Scirabin was a Russian composer who explored Symbolism and the use of color in music. This was especially prevalent in his two works, Poem of Ecstasy (1908) and Symphony No. 5, Prometheus – Poem of Fire (1911). During the performances of these two pieces, colors corresponding to octaves were projected onto a screen.
