General introduction:
In the project, I localize the English advertisement of La Roche-Posay into Simplified Chinese, so that Chinese audience can understand the importance of taking care of their skin and conduct sun protection.
Tools:
Adobe Premier and Adobe After Effects
Proposal/Tasks:
- Transcribe the song lyrics
- Translate into Chinese
- Replace all the English texts with Chinese characters
Challenges:
- Find the appropriate Chinese font, or the most similar one as the counterparts in the source video with circles.

2. Remove the original English texts. I cannot use a text box filled with a color to cover the area, because it’s not a single color, and the texts also have transformation effects.
Process:
Preparation:
Transcribe & Translate:
1.Lyrics of the song
2.Main contents –the pitch
3.Creator’s introduction

Font:
HuakangInk(华康墨滴体)

Audio&Visual Localization Process:
Transformation of the texts:

In Adobe Premier, I set the transformation by adding keyframes and changed the opacity of each one.
“Replace With After Effects Composition” (From Pr to Ae):

In order to get rid of the original contents, I use “Replace With After Effects Composition” function and come to after effect.
In Motion Tracking workspace, I make sure Content-Aware Fill panel is displayed, then use the Pen tool to create a mask. After changing the mask type to “Subtract.” Then I change “Fill Method” to “Edge Blend”. Lastly, I click “Generate Fill Layer” to finish this step.
After this, I go back to Pr and input Chinese texts.
Lessons learnt:
During this process, I went through countless times of computer shut down and file unsaved resulting from that. Jumps between Adobe Premier and After Effect really took time and luck to make the step of “Replace With After Effects Composition” happen. So, I learnt to be more patient. Because I believe, in the real working place, situations like this will be normal. Just remember to take a deep breath when problems show up, and then try again or find a way to fix the problem. 🙂
Final showcase of the project:
I really enjoy the process. I’ve learnt a lot. Hope you like it, too!~~
