Who am I
As a localization and Chinese translation professional, I am passionate about bridging people from different backgrounds with technological solutions. I have experience in language teaching, translation and interpretation, accounting, au pair matching, recruitment and management. I also have a business management background since I graduated from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, majoring in Business English. I also gained valuable experience from participating in an exchange program at the University of Wellington, where I majored in management. I will graduate in May 2021 with an M.A. in Translation and Localization Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
I want my peers and clients to describe me as a reliable, responsible, creative localizer with enthusiasm and qualified skills. I am a very tough person when encountering obstacles and I always stand on others’ shoes to issue problems.
My short-term plan
I hope I can find a job in the US, working in a localization team (client side) when I graduate in 2 years. I wish to master the whole process of localization by then and become capable of leading some high-level projects.
My dream as a localizer
I want to live in a world where people from different races and nations could understand more of each other, with more common interests, pursues and passion rather than stereotype, misunderstanding or conflicts. And my job—localization is to narrow the gap between people around the world, enhancing mutual communication and understanding, especially in a right and direct way.
I would love to participate in some creative work, such as projects of technological domain, or projects localizing audio and visual contents.
I desire to collaborate with colleagues who are open-minded, easygoing and responsible. It’s better if they do not judge others easily. I dream to work with clients who are willing to spend time understanding what localization is. What’s more, it won’t be nicer if they are responsive and cooperative with our team.
