Welcome to my Portfolio for Remote Sensing!

Hi! Thank you for visiting my portfolio site.

My name is Yide Xu. I am a student majoring in geography and mathematics at Middlebury College. I am interested in investigating human-environment interaction, namely the human impact on physical landscapes and challenges faced by humans due to climate change. Over a semester of study in GEOG 351 Remote Sensing and Land Use under the supervision of Professor Kimambo, I assembled a dossier of projects focusing on land classification, land features identification, and satellite imagery evaluation. My primary study site for the semester is Rhumpi, Malawi. The majority of the projects were conducted through Google Earth Engine.

Hope you will enjoy my projects!
