Web editing/Drupal training session to be offered next week

If you have any work-study students who will be working on the website or you want members of your department to get up to speed on editing the website using Drupal, Kristen Byers will be offering a website editing training session to help them to learn the basics.

Wednesday 10/20 @ 10:00am

The session will be held in the Digital Media Commons (Kade, 2nd floor) and will last approximately 90 minutes. Kristen will be showing everyone around the Drupal web editing interface for the first 30 minutes or so; the rest of the time she will ask people to practice working on their individual sections of the site while she remains onhand to answer any questions that may arise.

A New Look for the Course Catalog on miis.edu

We are excited to announce that our new searchable Course Catalog went live on miis.edu this week. The catalog replaces the old Courses page which consisted of a long (some might say never-ending) list of course descriptions.

This new catalog is now accessible from the Academics section of the website: http://www.miis.edu/academics/courses/catalog

In addition, courses taught by a particular faculty member are now displayed on that individual’s faculty profile under a new heading entitled “Courses.”

These recent developments are good news for the Institute’s Web Strategy Team members because all course information is automatically pulled from Banner, thereby streamlining the process of updating this content.

However, it’s even better news the rest of the MIIS community, especially prospective students, as you can now search for courses by subject, professor, time, day of the week, and much more. If you have a few minutes, don’t hesitate to take the new course catalog for a test drive!

Web editing (Drupal) training sessions to be offered

If you have any work-study students who will be working on the website or you want members of your department to get up to speed on editing the website using Drupal, Kristen Byers will be offering 2 website editing training sessions to help them to learn the basics.

There will be 2 different days offered (the same material will be covered both days, so you only need to attend one):

  • Friday 9/10 @ 12:30pm
  • Wednesday 9/15 @ 12:30pm

The sessions will be held in the Digital Media Commons (Kade, 2nd floor).

Kristen will be showing everyone around the Drupal web editing interface for the first 30 minutes or so; the rest of the time she will ask people to practice working on their individual sections of the site while she remains onhand to answer any questions that may arise.

If you have any work-study students working on the website over the summer or you want members of your department to get up to speed on editing the website using Drupal, this would be a great opportunity for them to learn the basics.
