GSIPM professor Beryl Levinger has many other hats. One of these, Director of Research for Save the Children’s State of the World’s Mothers Report, results in an extensive study that “identifies which countries are succeeding – and countries that are failing – to improve the lives of the poorest mothers and children.” The entire research team for this project is drawn from MIIS or DPMI. Nikki Gillette is a MIIS BA/MPA/MBA alum, and she co-directs the research team which included, this year, Jennifer Hayes (DPMI), Melissa Booth (MIIS), and Sara Ferree (MIIS). All of the last 10 reports were similarly staffed by MIIS students and alumni.
This year’s report has gotten incredible press coverage including mention in virtually every major media outlet, including the New York Times.
