Rebecca Walters and Natalie Sherman, two members of the three-person team that currently manages the Institute’s web site, will be leaving MIIS in the next few weeks. Rebecca is moving to Cairo, where her husband has accepted a new position, in Mid-July,  and Natalie will be departing for the bay area at the end of June.

We have begun the process of requesting to replace these positions. In the meantime, Rebecca and Natalie continue to work very hard to tie up as many loose ends as possible before they leave. As of July 15, Eric Morrow, assisted by two very capable graduate assistants — Jessica Mautone and Karla Micheli — will be handling essential updates to the site, in conjunction with the distributed team of staff who regularly provide web content for their departments.

During this transition time, the web team will not be able to undertake new projects or add new features to the site. We appreciate your patience with this temporary reduction in capacity.

We are grateful to Rebecca for all she has done to build the Institute’s digital interface with its various constituencies.  She has contributed greatly to the usability of www.miis.edu for our primary audience of prospective students, and has worked with individuals and groups all across campus, from academic departments to recruiting and communications, to create a dynamic social media presence across a number of platforms, and to create a rich reservoir of content that tells the MIIS story in all its dimensions.

We’re also grateful to Natalie for taking a detour from her career path to help Rebecca with outreach and content creation. She stepped in on short notice, leaned the ropes very quickly, and did a superb job!

SAVE THE DATE:  For all of you who have worked with Rebecca, please plan to join us on July 11 from 3-4:30 at the DLC to say goodbye.
