photo 1Through a collaborative effort facilitated by our colleagues at Middlebury, the Washington DC office of CNS has moved to new, larger quarters that are also designed to accommodate expanded MIIS and Middlebury programming in DC.

The address of the new office is:

James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, 1400 K Street, NW, Suite 1225, Washington, DC, 20005

MIIS and Middlebury faculties have both been invited to suggest ideas for programming that would make use of the unique resources of the nation’s capital to create new learning opportunities for our students.

photo 4The new office has a conference space that can accommodate 60 people (or two groups of 30), and several offices that can be used for visiting faculty. We expect to be able to host small conferences, receptions, and seminars/workshops on site. We are in the process of implementing a more robust technology infrastructure that will make it possible for us to support high-end videoconferencing linking our campus, the Middlebury campus, and the DC office.

photo 3Simultaneously we are looking at staffing for the office to coordinate program development and event management across the wide range of interests represented by the various Middlebury entities involved in the project.  Once this position is filled, we will certainly be looking to our network of faculty and staff to help us set priorities and make optimal use of the facility.
