As President Ramaswamy mentioned in Tuesday’s Town Hall Meeting, we have received formal notification from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) of the continued accreditation of Middlebury and all its entities, including the Monterey Institute.  Much credit goes to the team at MIIS* that worked with Middlebury colleagues to develop MIIS input to the self study and to introduce the Institute to the visiting team last fall. Together, the MIIS team and the Middlebury Steering Committee created a comprehensive self-study that described, for the first time, all the programs and sites that make up Middlebury. While we are pleased to have satisfied the visiting team as to our performance across a wide range of standards, through all the transitions on this end, the most important outcome of the process has been growing understanding and collaboration between MIIS and the Middlebury family of programs in Vermont and around the world.  The Middlebury accreditation website includes all the official documents pertaining to the accreditation process, including the self study, and report from the visiting team, Middlebury’s response to the report, and the letter from NEASC re-affirming accreditation.
