Professor Peter Grothe recently spoke at the  50th anniversary of the Peace Corps in Washington, DC attended by 5,000 returned Peace Corps Volunteers.

Dr Grothe gave three talks to a total of 600 returnees on Senator Hubert Humphrey’s founding role in the Peace Corps. Dr. Grothe, who drafted the original Peace Corps legislation for Senator Humphrey and who gave the Peace Corps its name, has been invited to return and speak to the senior Peace Corps staff about Humphrey’s conceiving of the Peace Corps.
