Professor Jan Knippers Black has two new books and a journal article out this year. Her book, The Politics of Human rights Protection, (Rowman & Littlefield) came out in paperback this spring. The fifth edition of Latin America, Its Problems and Its Promise, rolls off the presses of Westview, Perseus Books Group, in July. And her article on women’s rights, “Between the Glass Ceiling and the Sticky Floor,” appears in the spring edition of Human Rights Global Focus.

After spending January in Chile for her onsite course in Collaboration with Judge Juan Guzman, Professor Black traveled to Mexico City and to Washington, D.C. this spring on assignments for the Inter-American Foundation.
