Uwe Muegge, Chair of the Translation and Localization Management Program, was featured in the January 13 issue of Medical Translation Insight, a blog published by ForeignExchange Translations, a leading provider of medical translation services.
Titled “Terminology management at Medtronic”, the article discusses Muegge’s work as Corporate Terminologist of the world’s largest medical device company.
Medical Translation Insight also cites one of Muegge’s core convictions that students of his Terminology Management courses at MIIS are only too familiar with: “It cannot be repeated too often: Effective terminology management starts long before the first source document in a global campaign is ever written. Terminology stakeholders should decide on new terms for features and functions at the specification stage. Starting later always leads to changes.”
