After surviving domestic violence, Tara McCabe worked as a victim advocate for several years before going to law school and receiving her degree from the Seattle University School of Law in 2004. She then went on to campaign for domestic violence prevention for several years at both the state and national level. Tara lives in California with her daughter, three rescue cats and three rescue dogs.
