Former Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama was the first Japanese VIP to sign the condolence book. He described Mr Lee as a strict prime minister. “He commended my reform aspiration. The strict prime minister showed me warm feelings. I was happy,” said Hatoyama, breaking into tears.
