I plan to spend this weekend at the historic Castro Theatre as the San Francisco Silent Film Festival has a special weekend program of nine Alfred Hitchcock silent films. This is a rare opportunity to see these restored silent films on the big screen! Each film will be accompanied by a live musical accompaniment. My top picks are Champagne (6/15 at 1 p.m.), The Ring (6/15 at 7 p.m.), Easy Virtue (6/16 at 2:30 p.m.), and The Lodger (6/16 at 7:30 p.m.).
If you can’t make it to the Castro this weekend, The Hitchcock 9 will be also shown at the Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley 8/16 to 8/31.
