Shelburne Farms

Cat is the Children’s Farmyard Program Manager and a Farm Based Educator at Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, VT. While Shelburne Farms has a large flock of sheep that can often be seen grazing in the distance, the Children’s Farmyard brings sheep up close and seeks to educate kids on how they are connected to their food, why they should be grateful to food producers, and the importance of taking care of the land. Cat is in charge of a flock of around twelve sheep that are hand raised to be comfortable being petted by humans. She teaches farm visitors about the benefits of rotational grazing and leads fiber activities to teach kids where their clothes come from.
