Being one of the happiest countries in the world, Costa Rica is known for its peaceful, family-oriented culture and ‘pura vida’ way of life. The capital San Jose is Central America’s most cosmopolitan city, filled with vibrant markets, friendly locals, and inviting entertainment for all ages.

Costa Rica borders Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south.

More than 25% of Costa Rican land is protected national parks and refuges.

“Pura vida” is the national saying, which means “pure life,” a sunny, feel-good expression used as a greeting, goodbye, or if someone asks how you are doing.

There are more than 800 miles of coastline stretched across Costa Rica.

Costa Rica Flag: The blue color stands for the sky, white for peace, wisdom, and happiness, and red for the generosity of the people.
