Lia Swiniarski is a senior at Middlebury College pursuing a joint major in Political Science and History with a minor in French. In her studies she has taken a particular focus on international policy and international history, specifically concerning issues of humanitarian crises and global security. This past spring, she finished her senior work in Political Science where she created a website focused on the concept of the localization of humanitarian aid. After Lia graduates next February, she would like to pursue a career in international policy research, and also hopefully obtain a graduate degree in a related field. In her free time, she is a part of a hip-hop dance group on campus, and also enjoys reading and spending time outside. She is looking forward to learning more about the field of nonproliferation studies and getting to know everyone at CNS this summer!
