Spanish Fake News & Persuasion

In this class, which I took during my fall semester at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, I have learned:

  • Develop the ability to communicate, present written and oral information and interpret, at the intersection of high intermediate and advanced level of Spanish, with information and professional persuasion objectives
  • Reinforce intercultural competence the knowledge of Spanish-speaking societies through the analysis of their contemporary myths and realities
  • Recognize the existence, possibilities and dangers of communication in social networks and develop critical capacity in the assimilation, exchange and production of professional information
  • Strengthen collaboration skills and digital research in Spanish

Throughout the semester I wrote and published two articles (Artificial Intelligence. Can Machines Think? and Deconstructing Hollywood’s Misogyny) on Middlebury’s Institute of International Studies’ website OndaGlobal. In addition to a collaboration with Wikipedia’s Spanish Editing Team, during which I was responsible for adding missing information regarding my Italian culture.
