We’ll be having our movie night on Wednesday this week (6:00 pm, MG102). We’ve invited the Arabic students to join us for the film Bottle in the Gaza Sea (Une bouteille à la mer), a movie that takes a personal look at the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Promenade au Point Lobos – this Thursday
This Thursday afternoon, from 11:30 – 3:00 pm, we will be visiting Point Lobos National Park. The visit will be guided in French by the wonderful Madame Gisèle Kapuscinski, park docent and longtime MIIS faculty member.
We’ll start with a picnic and then take a walk around the park. We’ll meet at 11:30 in the MIIS library parking lot (to leave at 11:45). We expect to be back to MIIS around 3:00.

Film français : 8 femmes
Notre deuxième film français aura lieu ce mardi 15 juillet, de 18h à 20h dans McGowan 102. On regardera le film « 8 femmes », une très célèbre comédie française qui est aussi bien qu’elle en a l’air !
Our second French film viewing will be this Tuesday (July 15th), from 6 to 8 pm in McGowan 102. We’ll be watching the movie 8 femmes (“8 women”), a well-known French comedy that is just as good as it’s made out to be!

July 14th is Bastille Day, the national holiday of France. We’ll be celebrating on Monday at 6 pm, with a bite to eat and a quiz game on the history and significance of the holiday (3 teams, surprise gift for the winning team!) – so now is a good time to brush up on your Bastille Day history!
Location: Jason’s classroom and in the Holland Center patio.

Films français – French movie nights
English. Hi everyone! If you like movies or if you like French (or both!), don’t miss French movie night – we’ll be screening French films every Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. What’s more, we’ve reserved McGowan 102, for a real movie-going experience on the big screen.
L’Arnacœur
First up on the list is L’Arnacœur (“Heartbreaker”), with Romain Duris and Vanessa Paradis – next Tuesday, July 1st. See more info (and the trailer) on Allociné.
Français. Bonjour ! Si vous aimez le cinéma ou si vous aimez le français (ou les deux !), ne ratez pas les soirées films français : on projettera un film francophone tous les mardis de 18h à 20h. En plus, on a réservé la salle McGowan 102, pour que ce soit une vraie expérience comme sur le grand écran.
