Proposed topic: “The University of Sussex welcomes you for an exciting evening. We will be joined by Dr Rebecca Prentice, a Reader in Anthropology and International Development at Sussex’s School of Global Studies, for a lecture discussing ‘What is Poverty’. The session will give expose you to the main themes within academic learnings on poverty, how we teach at Sussex and why we have been ranked 1st in the World for Development Studies for seven consecutive years. We will also be joined by Marshall scholar alumni, and Kasia Symons (International Officer, North America) will host the session. We look forward to seeing you there!”.

The topic and structure of the sessions will be determined by each partner university but might include a presentation, mini lecture or a student panel.

Proposed topic: Discover more about Postgraduate opportunities Cambridge. In this session, we’ll introduce the University of Cambridge and what it’s like to live and study at one of the UKs most historic universities. We’ll cover the key stages of applying and hear from a current student. There will also be opportunity for Q&As as part of the webinar.

Middlebury Named Top Producer of Fulbrights for 2022-2023

Middlebury College was again named a Top Producer of Fulbrights with seven graduates offered US Student Fulbright grants for 2022-2023. Read more in the Newsroom.

University of Exeter UK – Global Excellence Scholarships for 2023/24, Webinars in History, Archeology Sessions 2/24/23

Postgraduate Taught Global Excellence Scholarships for Postgraduate Taught (Masters) degrees support international students wishing to develop their academic potential and contribute to the thriving University community of students and staff from over 140 countries. Scholarships available: A range of £5,000, £10,000 and full scholarships are on offer. Eligibility requirements

You can apply for one of these scholarships if you:

  • are classified as an International student for fees purposes, and
  • already hold an offer for an eligible Postgraduate taught degree at the University of Exeter, commencing in September 2023.
  • If you are yet to make your Masters programme application then please visit our Postgraduate taught study pages for September 2023 entry.

Applications Open for the Frederick Douglas Global Fellowship (summer program)

During the four-week summer program, 12 fellows will travel to Washington, DC, Cape Town, Dublin, Derry, and Belfast to explore the legacies of Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, John Lewis, Nelson Mandela, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Daniel O’Connell, John Hume, and other giants of social change.  The program runs July 7 – August 4, 2023, with the first week taught virtually and the next three weeks taught on-site. Fellows will study how changemakers shaped pathways to peace, including the Emancipation Proclamation in America, the end of Apartheid in South Africa, and the Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland. Eligibility

  • Be a current undergraduate freshman, sophomore or junior
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.3
  • Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or permanent resident
  • Identify as an ethnicity typically underrepresented on study abroad programs (e.g. American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander).
  • Submit a complete application no later than February 14
