Truman Scholarship Information Session today, Monday September 24 at 4:30 in MBH 219

The Truman Scholarship awards scholarships for students to attend graduate school in preparation for careers in government or elsewhere in public service. Each new Truman Scholar receives up to $30,000 for graduate study. Scholars also receive priority admission and supplemental financial aid at some premier graduate institutions, leadership training, career and graduate school counseling, and special internship opportunities within the federal government. Recipients must be U.S. citizens, have outstanding leadership potential and communication skills, be in the top quarter of their class, and be committed to careers in government or the non-profit sector. Students are selected on the basis of their academic and leadership accomplishments and their likelihood of becoming public service leaders. This scholarship requires Middlebury nomination and is open to students in their junior year.

This Information Session will provide an overview of the Truman Scholarship, its eligibility and application criteria, and the nomination process. The preliminary application deadline for Middlebury juniors wishing to be nominated is Monday, October 31.
