Welcome!

Welcome to the website for Queering International Education, a research project highlighting the experiences and trajectories of queer international students that have studied at U.S. higher education institutions.

The goal of this research project is to understand how queer-identifying individuals who have participated in U.S. higher education were motivated to pursue international education, their moments of conflict and comfort in their overseas educational experiences, and their trajectories after completing their studies. This study is particularly interested in individuals’ transitions between their home country and the U.S. and their return home or other pathway after completion of studies, especially for individuals from countries or communities where queer identities and behavior are heavily discriminated against or outlawed.
