Feet On the Ground

As told by Philip Williams (NYMP13)

“To be honest, my experience at Middlebury so far encompasses a lot. All in all I love my time here. Middlebury is everything that I expected it to be and more than I could have hoped for. Are classes kicking my ass? Yes, and they are doing a thorough job of it but that is part of the thrill. I have work that I am interested in and my professors are all quite competent and intelligent.

The fact that I came to Middlebury, Vermont with 11 other people makes being here even more special. When I feel like I am drowning in work and ready to give up, my Posse knows just what to say to keep me going. I also love the support that comes from beyond the immediate members of my Posse; speficially the older Posse members. The older Posses have so much knowledge and wisdom despite their young ages. (Twenty-one isn’t old MP10!)

My experiences socially have been awesome too. I have met the most amazing people in the world [during my first year] at Middlebury College, while drawing closer to the ones that I already knew.

I also love the fact that everyone on my floor, regardless of color or race, now knows how to wine to soca music. In simple terms: I’m loving it.”
