$50,000 Security for A New Century Congressional Fellowship

SNC develops and facilitates a rich program of study group sessions on international security issues. The purpose of the study group is to assist Members of Congress and their staffs in better understanding the common characteristics of today’s security issues, and to provide a feedback loop between Congress and the agencies over which it has oversight for international issues. All sessions are off-the-record, interactive, and aimed, toward developing pragmatic, workable solutions to today’s complex security problems.

The Security for a New Century Congressional Fellow serves for one year, with an option for continuing into a second year. The fellowship will begin in July 2009. The Fellow will work within a host Congressional office and in partnership with an office of the opposite political party to coordinate and facilitate educational programming and outreach for the Security for a New Century (SNC) project. SNC is a bipartisan study group created in 1998 to educate congressional staff about the significant security challenges confronting the United States in the post-Cold War era.
