tweening

tweening is a process in all types of animation in which one identifies a few frames/objects in a moving sequence of that object and has a computer generate the images between each frame. In cartoons, this allows the animator to simply draw a few frames and have each frame morph into the next one instead of drawing every single frame necessary.
