“Nature Writing” was taught in Spring 2010 by John Elder, though he dislikes the term nature writing . In fact, he said our writing didn’t even have to be about nature. We read the works of authors such as Annie Dillard, Leslie Silko, Barry Lopez, John Muir, and Thoreau, wrote our own pieces, and discussed everything thoroughly. We also went hiking.  This was John’s last class before retiring, though I’m sure we’ll still see him around.
