Reminder About Summer Forms

Reminder: Summer Student Employment and Housing Agreements are due April 15!

If you are a Midd student hired to work for Middlebury this summer, a Summer Student Employment and Housing Agreement must be submitted to SEO by April 15th (even if you do not need on campus housing).

Please visit the Student Employment Office Web page to view this summer’s procedures and policies. You can access all necessary forms on this page.

Students interested in securing a job on campus this summer, please read ALL of the information on the Student Employment Office (SEO) Website at http://www.middlebury.edu/offices/business/seo/summer.

Here are a few high-lights:

Applying for a Job: Jobs will be posted on the SEO website.  Students will need to create an account through the online system if they haven’t already.  It is recommended to set up your account NOW so you will be ready to apply for jobs as they become available.   https://middlebury.peopleadmin.com/

All students hired to work for Middlebury between May 25 and September 9 MUST submit a Summer Student Employment and Housing Agreement to SEO by April 15.  Forms are available on the SEO website.

Employment: Students must complete federally mandated employment paperwork in the Student Employment Office and receive a blue employment card before begin working. You’re not eligible to work until this has been done! See ‘Employment Eligibility’ on the SEO website for additional information: http://www.middlebury.edu/offices/business/seo/eligibility.

All summer jobs must conclude by August 25, the end of summer housing. Job extensions previously approved by the Student Employment Office are the only exceptions (these will be noted on the job posting).

To be eligible for on campus housing students must be employed by Middlebury College and working at least 30 hours per week.

Weekly Charges: On campus housing is $60 per week and covers housing and activities fees. Summer Student Employees will be housed in Stewart and Starr and will be assigned a room based on availability. The summer meal plan is $65 per week from June 13 through August 20 and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and brunch and dinner on the weekend. All student employees housed on campus during this period will be billed for the meal plan. The plan includes breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and brunch and dinner on the weekend. All meals will be served in Proctor Redfield. Students living on campus when a meal plan is not offered (before and after Language Schools) are expected to supply their own meals.

Student Employment (SEO) will provide information about finding a job on campus, the costs of living on campus including housing and food options, and important deadlines.

4:55 – 5:20: Off Campus Internships
Center for Careers & Internships (CCI) will provide information on finding or creating an internship opportunity for this summer.

5:20 – 5:30: Volunteering
Community Engagement will provide information on how to find an opportunity for volunteering this summer.

Throughout the program International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) will provide specific information for international students about on and off campus opportunities and address concerns or questions specific to international students, such as OPT employment authorization.

If you are unable to attend, please visit the appropriate office for answers to your questions.
