AUDITIONS: 16th Annual First Year Show

16th Annual First Year Show Auditions:

Best of New York:  An evening of scenes

An opportunity to play some of the greatest characters New York theatre has served up in the last 5 years.
Directed by Lisa Velten Smith

Thursday September 13th, 7-10pm    Room 232, MCFA

Callbacks: Friday September 14th, 7-10pm
Performance dates: October 19-21, Hepburn Zoo

If you audition for the show and accept a role, it is expected that you will attend your specific rehearsal calls, be on time, and be well prepared; please plan your fall schedule with these responsibilities in mind. Rehearsals will be in the evenings and on weekends, and will not exceed more than 5 meetings per week until production week. “Best of New York will not interfere with auditions, rehearsals, or performances for the Winter Term Musical.

Auditions are also open to students who entered in the Fall 2011 or Spring 2012 if they have not appeared in another Theatre Department show.

To participate, come to the Center for the Arts at 6:45PM, and sign up for a time to perform: one of the scenes OR: a 90 second monologue of your choice.  The scene selections will be posted on the theater website four days in advance.  We will hear people, one at a time, in the order they have signed up to audition. You may hold your script, but we insist that it be well-prepared.  Try to memorize as much as you can so that you can connect with the person reading with you.  Those called back will be notified by email.
