Reminder: Summer Student Employment and Housing Agreements are due April 19!

If you are a Midd student hired to work for Middlebury this summer, a Summer Student Employment and Housing Agreement must be submitted to SEO by April 19th (even if you do not need on campus housing).

Please visit the Student Employment Office Web page to view this summer’s procedures and policies. Forms are available on the SEO website.

Summer Student Employment

Students interested in securing a job on campus this summer, please read ALL the information on the Student Employment Office (SEO) Website at http://www.middlebury.edu/offices/business/seo/summer.

Here are a few high-lights:

How to apply for a Job

Jobs will be posted on the SEO website.  Students will need to create an account through the online system if they haven’t already.  It is recommended to set up your account NOW so you will be ready to apply for jobs as they become available.   https://middlebury.peopleadmin.com/

All students hired to work for Middlebury during the summer must submit a Summer Student Employment and Housing Agreement to SEO by April 19th.  Forms are available on the SEO website and at the Student Employment Office in the Service Building.

Students that have not worked on campus before and do not have a blue employment card will need to complete employment forms at SEO.  Click on ‘Employment Eligibility’ on the website for additional information: http://www.middlebury.edu/offices/business/seo/eligibility.

All summer jobs must conclude by August 17th, the end of Language Schools. Job extensions previously approved by the Student Employment Office are the only exceptions (these will be noted on the job posting).

To be eligible for on campus housing students must be employed by Middlebury College and working at least 30 hours per week.

Weekly Costs for Summer Student Employees living on campus:

On campus housing is $50 per week and covers housing and activities fees. Summer Student Employees will be housed in Stewart and Starr and will be assigned a room based on availability. The summer meal plan is $50 per week from June 10 through August 17 and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and brunch and dinner on the weekend. All meals will be served in Proctor Redfield. Students living on campus when a meal plan is not offered (before reunion and after Language School commencement) are expected to supply their own meals.

What About Summer?

Dear Students,

Wondering what you are going to do this summer?  Trying to decide if you should get a job at home or participate in an internship?  Wondering what your options are for staying at Midd?  It’s not too early to begin making plans.

The annual What About Summer? session sponsored by the Student Employment Office, Education in Action, and the International Student and Scholar Services will be held at 4:30pm in McCardell Bicentennial Hall 220, February 20th.

You will receive a lot of information to help you make your decision!

Campus housing is available only to those who are working on campus a minimum of 30 hours per week in an on-campus Middlebury student position.

Weekly Costs for Summer Student Employees living on campus:  Rent is $50 per week and covers housing and activities fee.  Summer Student Employees will be housed in Stewart and Starr. The meal plan is an additional $50 per week from June 11 to August 17 and includes breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and brunch and dinner on the weekends.  Meals will be served in Ross Fireplace Lounge.  Student Employees housed on campus during that time period will be charged for the meal plan.  Payments for room and board will be made through payroll deduction unless prepaid in full by April 20th.
