INTERESTED IN LOCAL FOOD & SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT? LOOKING FOR A COOL PAID SUMMER INTERNSHIP WITH FREE HOUSING?

The Center for Education in Action brings you Middlebury FoodWorks, a NEW internship program JUST for Middlebury students.  Up to 12 students will be able to participate in Middlebury FoodWorks, a nine-week paid internship program – with free housing –  focused on the local food economy in Louisville, KY.

Fourteen positions currently available in city government, microenterprise and economic development, health and nutrition, retail, publishing, with non-profits, AND yes, on farms.  Find out more on the Middlebury FoodWorks website: go/mfw.

Apply for as many FoodWorks positions that interest you, through MOJO. Applications due March 2. Seniors may apply.

Details about the program include:

  • Meaningful four-day/week internships with a company or organization working on a component of developing the local food economy in Louisville.
  • $2100 stipend for 9 weeks of work.  The program dates are from Monday, June 4 to Friday, August 3, 2012
  • High content “Fifth Day” presentations and projects relating to the local food system and economy*
  • FREE student housing provided at Bellarmine University,
  • Mentoring by Middlebury alumni and parents in Louisville
  • Profound personal engagement among interns, members of the local food sector, and the Greater Louisville community.
