So Kyle and I got a little caught up in what we where doing and we made this…. 10 minutes of video game analysis.

I cut down what we had to around five minutes and this version is what we want to show in class tomorrow (or I guess today by now). Watch the ten minute version only if you have way too much time on your hands.

Enjoy.

  1. When you talk about the differences between crashes in the two games I think you rose a great point–that the mario cart crashes have no consequences and that nothing permanent happens. I think you could easily draw comparisons between cartoon violence and “live action” violence for these same reasons. Old Loony Toons would feature characters routinely getting blow up or “killed” only to reappear in the next segment. I think there is something to be said about the general game procedure if there is no worry about permanent consequences because users will seemingly take larger risks in games like mario cart than if there were long lasting repercussions for their actions, such as the Turismo.
