For Seniors/Febs-Want to Make a Difference Working on Environmental and Sustainable Food Issues in VT?

The Vermont Community Foundation (VCF) seeks applicants for a two-year paid Environmental Philanthropy Associate located in Middlebury, VT.

The work of the fellow will be focused in two primary areas: the High Meadows Fund (HMF, www.highmeadowsfund.org) and the Vermont Food Funders Network. HMF’s mission is to promote a healthy natural environment while encouraging long-term economic vitality in Vermont. High Meadows focuses on reducing reliance on fossil fuels, making agriculture viable and food affordable, and encouraging vibrant compact settlements surrounded by working farms and forests. The Vermont Food Funders Network is a learning network of 15 funds and foundations focused on building and supporting sustainable food systems in Vermont. The fellow will provide staffing and programmatic support for HMF and help convene the Vermont Food Funders Network. The fellow will also serve as a member of the Vermont Community Foundation’s “Green Team,” which identifies, promotes, and implements environmentally responsible practices within the office and in the greater Middlebury community such as reducing waste, composting and recycling, and increasing energy efficiency.

The application Deadline is February 21, 2011.
